Received a call that the boiler was making a loud noise and that it gotten turned off. Upon arrival cycled it on and found that the main circulator pump was making a lot of noise from the bearing assembly. I confirmed that it was the bearing and optimotor, I lubricated all three ports and allowed the oil to sit. Recycled it several times and the pump is no longer making noise. We are going to monitor the pump going forward to see if it still needs to be replaced or if the bearing was salvaged by lubrication.

Received a call that the furnace was not operating, upon arrival I found that the combustion lower was running but there was no flame. Upon further investigation, I found that as soon as the furnace attempted to call for heat and a signal was sent to the spark ignitor that the board would shut itself down and recycle. It did this several times, I removed the board and I replaced both the circuit board and the spark igniter. Installed both new items and cycled the furnace, was able to get the circuit board to spark a little bit longer but it would still shut down. I found that the coil in the gas valve was shorted which caused the initial failure of the circuit board, I replaced the gas valve with an OEM valve and cycle the furnace. The furnace is now running and operating properly.

Received a call at the first floor furnace was not operating, upon arrival I found that there was no display on the thermostat and there were no lights on the board. Removed the panels and found that the control voltage fuse on the circuit board had failed, installed a resettable breaker and cycled the system to see if I could locate the cause of the fuse failure. The house was 64° upon startup, I allowed the thermostat to operate and reach 70° and there was no fault in the furnace. I installed a new three amp fuse and recycled the system, the furnace lit properly and is operating. Upon removal of the failed fuse I noticed that there was no black spot in the middle of the fuse that is typically present when a fuse blows. It is possible that the fuse failed without an overcurrent incident. The furnace is operating properly at this time. I left a spare fuse on the furnace service switch just in case we need it in an emergency situation.
