Arrived onsite for no heat call on quality control room. Air handler with electric heating coil. Found the heater coil relay has gone bad. System is older and part is difficult to find. Ordered a possible replacement part. Sent estimate to customer for repair.
A relay is an electrical switch that can allow numerous circuits to be energized or de-energized at the same time. This delay on make relay begins the timing circuit when the contacts are energized.
Arrived onsite for no heat service call. Boiler burner control will not start boiler. Had the module analyzed and determine to be bad. The module is not recognizing the flame and eventually locking out. Ordered new module for overnight delivery. Placed old module back on the boiler and was able to get it to fire up. Will return once new part is available.
Arrived onsite for replace bad burner control. Installed new part. Used previous interface card. Confirmed operation of the system.
The furnace/boiler ignition control module is an essential part of your system. It provides power to the ignition system, controls the operation of the main gas valve and can also control operation of a blower motor or circulator pump, It also oversees operation of the safety controls, and is more reliable than the standing pilot light that is found in older gas furnace models. Electronic ignition failure is very common and can prevent your furnace/boiler from turning on.
Performed maintenance on a gas-fired boiler. Turned up thermostats to confirm operation of the boiler and zone valves. Cleaned burners and burner compartment, inspected electrical and external water components, including the expansion tank, fill valve, backflow preventer, and circulator pump. Noted rusting in the burner compartment, consistent with last year's observation, with no worsening or active water leak. System is operating as expected.
Performed boiler maintenance, including flushing the low water cutoff and drains. Cleaned the sight glass and confirmed proper operation of gauges, wiring, and safety switches. During startup, found the main burner control intermittently tripping on alarm. Awaiting confirmation from Honeywell tech support regarding a potential failure.
Performed maintenance on the gas-fired steam boiler as per the maintenance agreement. Cleaned the sight glass, flushed all drain valves and the low water cutoff, and confirmed the operation of key controls and components. Shut off the boiler and storage room switches, as it is still warm out.
Performed maintenance on the gas-fired steam boiler. Removed and cleaned the sight glass, confirming correct water levels. Flushed all drain valves and the low water cutoff. Verified the operation of the low water cutoff, automatic water feed, and manual reset low water cutoff. Allowed the boiler to build steam pressure and confirmed proper operation of the operating control. Also ensured that all ball valves to the hot water loop were shut off. The boiler has been turned off, including the switch inside the storage room, as it is still warm out.
Completed maintenance on the school’s boiler, including flushing the low water cutoff and boiler drains, and cleaning the water sight glass. Verified proper operation of gauges, wiring, and switches for the low water cutoff, pressure control, and manual reset control. Also confirmed the operation of the thermostat and relay that energizes the boiler. During startup, found that the main burner control is not creating a call for heat, intermittently tripping on alarm. After reset, the burner motor runs briefly before shutting off. Awaiting confirmation from Honeywell tech support to determine if the main burner control has failed.
Performed quarterly cooling maintenance on 4 rooftop units and 1 split system. Confirmed operation of all units, changed filters, and cleared condensate lines. All systems are functioning properly. Noted that one RTU has a blower motor with a failed seal, causing lubrication in the compartment. While it's still operational, replacement is recommended, and an estimate will be provided.
